Now that I'm admitted, what do I do?
Congratulations on becoming a graduate student at UF in the SFFGS! We know it can seem overwhelming as you are getting settled, so here are some concrete steps you can take to ensure you are all set.
FIRST THINGS FIRST
- Your Gatorlink email address is your official email for UF, and is the only email that will be used during your study at UF. Check it often! https://www.mail.ufl.edu/ Links to an external site.
- Review all the relevant sections of this Canvas course--the Academic Hub--to be sure you know what is required of you.
- In August, attend the New Graduate Student orientation, if you can. Details will be announced in canvas.
- Meet or connect with your faculty advisor Links to an external site. to introduce yourself and discuss your plans for the program. Be sure to maintain frequent communication with your advisor!
- Meet or connect with the Academic Coordinator Links to an external site. to check in and have any logistical or administrative questions you may have answered.
- It is a good idea to read your Graduate Handbook as early as possible (linked to your degree program page in this orientation course).
- Make it a point to read through the Graduate School's New Graduate Student Guide for helpful information about adjusting to life as a graduate student here at UF.
