Spring Registration - Required Course Notes

Registering for Spring SFFGS Required Courses – Undergrad On-Campus ONLY

Register on time!  During Advance Registration, Juniors and Seniors (by credits, not year) in our FRC, NRC, and MAS majors have permission to register in the following courses, as needed: FAS4305C, FOR3153C, FOR4060, FOR4090C, and FOR3202.  When Advance Registration ends in early November, these courses will be open for other majors to register, so RESERVE YOUR SEAT!

 

***TO REGISTER IN DEPARTMENTALLY CONTROLLED SECTIONS IN OTHER DEPARTMENTS, CONTACT THAT DEPARTMENT***

 

  • FRC & NRC Seniors: If you are graduating in Spring 2024 or Summer 2024, and you need to take WIS3401 and/or WIS3402L Lecture and Lab, make sure you attempt to register in the section that has a note regarding your major. Please email your advisor if you are unable to register yourself in one of these courses.

 

 

  • All FAS4932 courses default to list "Prereq: instructor permission."  If the course is not Departmentally Controlled or listed here, then if there are available seats you should be able to self register without instructor permission. 

 

  • FAS4932- "Special Topics: Biology of Aquatic Inverts" can be taken as a substitute to ZOO4205C.

 

  • FOR4934- "Eco-Civic Engagement" has a NEW course number: EVR3004

 

  • For the Spring 25 semester-- No SCUBA courses will be offered due to pool renovations!
    • They should be offered again in Summer 2025 and Fall 2025. 

 

  • FOR3202 Society & Natural Resources  (*Junior FRC and NRC majors)  - Please note that there are other options to fulfill this requirement on your degree audit. 

 

  • FOR3214L Fire Ecology & Management Lab  (*Registration for this class is limited; Senior NRC majors - FOR3214L MUST be on your signed Curriculum Plan). Please request registration by emailing your academic advisor with your UFID and/or after your Curriculum Plan has been submitted and approved.
    • If you are registered in the Fire Certificate and this is your FINAL spring semester-- please work with Sandie Houder to get registered in the Fire Lab.  
    •  If you have your S130/S190 certification, please be sure to let your advisor know so that we may put you in the correct lab section. 
    • The lab is from 10:40am until the fire is out and you wrap up every Friday. That could be 5pm or later on a burn day, so make sure you know what you are committing to when you sign up for the class.

       

  • FNR4623C Integrated Natural Resource Management (*FRC and NRC seniors only; Must have prereq of FOR3162C Silviculture)

 

  • FNR4950L NRC Capstone (Core #8 Requirement)
