Assessment plays an important part in the learning process. Both summative and formative assessments inform progress and guide learning. It is essential to the accreditation process and the results are used in all sorts of ways to measure outcomes and success of the student, teacher, course, or institute. As you continue to build your course modules and aligning your content with the course objectives, consider ways to challenge and assess your students.
Objectives
- Match your course objectives with appropriate assessments.
- Determine the most suitable assessment methods for specific challenges.
- Describe common methods of assessment in an online course.
- Determine what assessments are manageable within the resources at your disposal.
- Implement strategies that support academic integrity.
- Implement best practices for assessment in your course.
- Develop rubrics to support assignments.
- Use assessments to monitor learning progress.
- Evaluate instructional effectiveness.
