Worksheets
As you move through this workshop, you will compose a working document to aid with your course development. At the end of each module you will fill out a section of the document. Through the creation of this series of worksheets, you will work through the challenges and benefits of teaching online. The final worksheet will serve as a blueprint for your course development.
If you will be working with an instructional designer, e-mail the worksheets to that individual prior to your first meeting.
TimeSavers
Throughout this workshop, you'll find tips and suggestions that will save you time as you develop and teach your course online. These items are designated by the "timesaver" icon.
TimeSaver: Most of the video presentations are accompanied by a .pdf that includes the complete transcript of the audio. You may find that it is quicker to read the material than to watch the video.
Workshop Completion
The Faculty Institute Workshop is recommended for all faculty teaching online courses. If you are developing a course for UF Online, you are required to complete the Faculty Institute Workshop and pass the associated test with a score of 80% or better. There are 10 questions. You may re-take the test up to 3 times. Each time you take the test, you may receive different questions. The test should take less than an hour. In the event that you do not achieve a score of 80% or better after 3 tries, please contact Jennifer Smith jksmith@ufl.edu.
This test is open computer and open notes. You may wish to have the UF Standards and Markers of Excellence Download UF Standards and Markers of Excellence available to serve as a guide.
