Module 1: Meeting Your Academic Advisor
Overview
The Center for Student Excellence houses seven academic advisors and is led by the Director of First Year Advising, Deborah Mayhew. The goal of the academic advisors is to help each student understand their purpose in being in college and to find the right major. All first year engineering students have an assigned academic advisor. This helps students to develop an advising relationship with someone they can trust in their first year. Advisors can help students discover the major or career path that’s right for them, point students toward campus resources, and connect them to clubs and design teams.
