An international experience during your time at UF can be a very enriching opportunity to learn about other cultures and see the USA from the outside. Only about 1 on 10 undergraduate students take the opportunity to go abroad. 

The University of Florida International Center has hundreds of opportunities waiting for you. An international experience can be a life changing event and may also be something on your resumee that makes you stand out more comared to your fellow applicants. Study Abroad

The world is an open book! The UF International Center Links to an external site. offers over hundreds of programs to study, research, intern, and participate in service learning abroad! Thousands of Gators study abroad each year and gain valuable experiences that impact their academic, career, and personal goals. Studying abroad allows you to stay on track with your degree and use existing financial aid to take courses in another country!

Semester Exchange

We partner with universities world-wide to offer world-class educational experiences. Exchange programs Links to an external site. offer affordable UF tuition while studying at a foreign university. UF Exchange programs: 

  • Offer a great immersion experience!
  • Most are one semester long or a full academic year.
  • Pay tuition directly to UF
  • Earn UF credits
  • Courses offered in specific subject areas.
  • Fluency in the local language may be required; however, many courses are taught in English.
  • Housing options vary (on-campus or off-campus)

Internship

You can earn academic credit on a study abroad program and complete an internship Links to an external site. at the same time. Internship placements are arranged by the host university or third-party program provider. You can also arrange an international internship and earn credit from UF for UF internships. Simply coordinate with a faculty member to serve as a sponsor for the internship credits and you will be enrolled in UF credits for the duration of the program. You can also conduct research abroad or do an independent study abroad. Many foreign universities are conducting interesting and important research in emerging fields and many U.S. students are seeking these opportunities to enhance their educational careers.

Sevice Learning

There are many opportunities to help communities abroad through volunteering and service learning Links to an external site.. Many of these programs work in fields such as agriculture, education and public health, and may be a great way to learn an important field while studying abroad.
