After your CV the school or employer will look at your cover letter. Here are a few pointers:

Cover letter: Dos

  • Keep it short and sweet
  • Make it about them and not about you!
  • Address the right person
  • Tell them why the opportunity is perfect for you and your career
  • Tell them why you are perfect to have you as employee or their program
  • Why they should chose you and what difference it will make in your life

Cover Letter: Don'ts

  • Don't repeat the content of your CV/resume
  • Don't drag on how great you are
  • Don't add things that are not important for the opportunity
  • Don't make it long
