Exponents & Radicals assignment

The following assignments are designed to help you master the material we've covered in this module. If you have any questions, please ask your instructor for help.

 

  • These Download worksheets introduce writing numbers as exponents as well as how to calculate the value of numbers that are already expressed as exponents.  Be sure that you know how to use the exponent keys on your calculator, but also try to memorize all of the "perfect squares" at least up through 15.  Here is the Download answer key so that you can check your work.

 

  • These Download worksheets demonstrate how exponents and radicals or "roots" are related to each other.  They also offer some practice calculating the value of numbers that are expressed as radicals, both with and without a calculator.  Here is the Download answer key so that you can check your work.

 

  • These Download worksheets offer some practice simplifying radicals using factoring.  The last worksheet is a little more advanced than what we will cover during this module but you are welcome to give it a try if you'd like.  All of these skills will be useful to you as we make our way into Algebra later in the semester.  Here is the Download answer key so that you can check your work.
