Quantitative Determiners

We looked at a small group of pronouns of quantity which are derived from a set of determiners--that is, adjectives which precede and modify a noun, but have only one declension (no concerns about strong or weak endings!). As with der-die-das, any other adjective for that noun uses the weak endings.

jeder	each, every (sing. only)
alle	all
beide	both, the two (plural only)
mancher	some

 

The declension of these determiners, like dieser, jener, and welcher, follows the declension of the definite article. That is why they are also called 'der-words'
