Conducting A Risk Assessment
Module 10

Risk management is the theme of this module. The readings will cover the elements of risk management, risk control, probability determination and the processes management uses to reduce losses.

The material will also include a discussion on liability and analyzing exposures.

Objectives

After completing this module, students will be able to:

    • Develop an understanding of risk management and the impact of decision making on an organization.
    • Recognize the difference between the types of liability, litigation and negligence.
    • Evaluate how risk assessment techniques can be used in retention, recruitment, and hiring staff.
    • Explain near misses, non-loss incidents, loss incidents, and catastrophic loss incidents.
    • Demonstrate how risk management techniques are used by management to evaluate standard processes and procedures.

Read Chapter 10, "Conducting Risk Assessment" in the textbook.

Discussions
