Module 5

The goal of this module is to provide an understanding of the specialization that can occur in dispatch centers, especially with medical dispatching.

This module covers dispatch quality initiatives and systems configurations. In addition, the goals of dispatching and system status management will be reviewed.

Objectives

After completing this module, students will be able to:

• • Discuss different system configurations.
  • Explain the components of dispatch.
  • Discuss emergency medical dispatch (EMD).
  • List the goals of the dispatch center.
  • Discuss the concepts of system status management.
  • Explain why quality initiatives are important for EMD.
