Module 6: Public Health
This module will focus on the surveillance as the means of identifying the incidence and surrounding details of the various injuries to facilitate risk behavior modification, strategic planning to mitigate injury prevalence, and assessment of injury reduction efforts.
Objectives
After completing this modules, students will be able to:
- Describe the focus and scope of public health and relate how EMS can supplement the core objectives of public health
- Describe the concept and elements of health promotion and relate how EMS can facilitate its development
- Describe the ways in which EMS can contribute to public objectives, including immunizations, surveillance, education, delivery of home health care and primary health care
