Future of Emergency Services Dispatch
Module 12

This module will cover the future of dispatching by discussing evolving technology, interdisciplinary collaboration, and ongoing changes related to dispatching and response.

Objectives

After completing this module, students will be able to:

    • Describe how smartphones and mobile tablets have affected emergency response.
    • Explain the reasons why agencies in the same jurisdiction should engage one another in a collaborative environment.
    • Anticipate the future of enforcement of NIMS/ICS on agencies such as FEMA and DOH.
    • Discuss NG9-1-1 and how mobile technologies have enhanced emergency dispatching.
    • Discuss the role of trauma communication centers in the emergency communications system.
    • Describe the types of private telemetry and the challenges associated with their implementation.
