Use this page as a home for various resources. I will continue to build the page throughout the semester.

Course Resources

  1. Use Forum (our class-wide discussion board) to pose questions and give answers to your colleagues as well as to share any resources you come across.
  2. Use the Libellus Chartārum to review all the grammatical forms of Latin 1.
  3. Check out Grading Marks and Abbreviations to understand assignment corrections.
  4. We have on Course Reserves English Grammar for Students of Latin in case there's a grammar topic you wish to learn more about in English. Click on "Course Reserves" in the Navigation menu on the left.
  5. Check out this page for my Latin 1 topic lectures.
  6. If you'd like some practice for the vocabulary quizzes and their different question types, check out Practice Quiz 1.

External Learning Aids

  1. If you're looking for more practice, try Magistrula Links to an external site., a free online Latin-learning resource.
  2. If you need a Latin dictionary, use Latinitium Links to an external site.. Their user-friendly design is the best for beginning-level students. Please don't use other dictionaries without consulting your instructor first.
  3. If you're struggling with verb forms, you can use Conjuguemos Links to an external site. to practice.
  4. If you're interested in a cultural, literary, or historical conversation, check out the Auxilia tab in some modules' Agenda or using UF Libraries Links to an external site. to search for more information on the topic.
  5. Rebecca Cefaratti has some helpful videos by Wheelock chapter on YouTube Links to an external site.. Be advised that I do not follow the topics in the same order nor teach in the same manner. I also haven't vetted every individual video, so be wary of that, too.

The Department of Classics and the Center for Greek Studies offer a variety of scholarship opportunities Links to an external site. for students who take classes in the department. They become available early in the Spring semester. Consider applying, especially to receive financial aid for study abroad opportunities.
