Page Design & Structure Work with Content Blocks

A content block is a chunk of content, often preceded by a page heading. You might think of content blocks as sections of a page. Chunking page content into blocks is not required, but doing so makes it much easier to rearrange the content, should you need to do so. With the Content Block tool, you can easily move blocks to any location within the content area of the page.

In addition to creating your own content blocks, you can also pull pre-existing template blocks into your page.

 Tips for Content Blocks

  • Add content blocks to create the overall page structure before fleshing out the content in each block.
  • When creating blocks, use page headings consistently to help students understand the overall structure of the document. If your banner title uses an H2 heading, create a block with an H3 heading for each major page section. Whether you want to create smaller blocks within each page section is up to you.
