Remaining Steps
DesignPLUS Workflow Remaining Steps
There are no dependencies between the remaining steps in the course creation process, so you can complete them in any order.
Set Availability, Due, and Feedback Dates
The Multi-Tool Due Date Modifier makes it easy to set the available, due, until, and feedback dates for all items in your course. Unlike the Edit Assignment Dates page in Canvas Assignments, the Due Date Modifier allows you to set and modify dates for graded and ungraded items, including Canvas pages. You can also use it to set the show and hide answer dates for quizzes. See these resources for detailed instructions on how to use the Multi-Tool Due Date Modifier:

Create the Syllabus and Home Page
The Multi-Tool Module Builder helped you create and apply your primary template to most of the pages for your course. You'll need to use the DesignPLUS sidebar to apply the template to the course home page and syllabus before you start adding content to these pages. Remember to remove the module progress indicator if you included one in the primary template, as well as any other elements that aren't appropriate for the syllabus or home page. Also, in the case of the home page, you'll need to make some configuration adjustments to set the course home page. General guidelines for the syllabus and home page are provided below.
Syllabus
- Open the Canvas Syllabus tool in Edit mode.
- In the DesignPLUS sidebar, use the Template Content tool to pull in your primary Sidebar template.
- Remove the module progress indicator element (if present) and other template elements that may not be appropriate for the course syllabus.
- Construct your syllabus content from scratch, or take advantage of predefined syllabus content blocks.
Course home page
- Create a new Canvas page.
- In the DesignPLUS sidebar, use the Template Content tool to pull in your primary Sidebar template.
- Remove the module progress indicator element (if present) and other template elements that may not be appropriate for the course home page.
- Construct your home page content from scratch, or take advantage of predefined content blocks.
- Set your new page as the Pages Front Page and choose Pages Front Page as the Course Home Page. This can be done in Canvas (see the Canvas Guide Links to an external site.) or in the Multi-Tool Template Builder Tool (see the Template Builder Guide)
Flesh Out Module Content
Using the Multi-Tool Module Builder, you created the complete skeleton for your course. Now it's time to put meat on those bones by adding instructional content to every page, assignment, discussion, and quiz generated by Module Builder. Remember to draw upon the many custom formatting and interactive elements available in the DesignPLUS sidebar to keep your content engaging, easy to read, and accessible.
