Not all speech is free under the 1^st Amendment. There has been much controversy about emergency services personnel working in the public sector expressing their viewpoints on social media, print media, and television regarding fire service issues.

Write a paper not to exceed 12 pages on the First Amendment and how this affects the fire service and, most importantly, how it affects you and your relationship with your fire department.

Please discuss the Pickering Test and cite three cases where firefighters were disciplined or terminated related to their perceived rights of freedom of expression under the First Amendment provisions, the cause of discipline, and the outcomes.
