Weather Emergencies & Tornadoes
In Module 4, we will look at weather emergencies, which include tornadoes, hurricanes, and severe storms (including winter storms). We will also examine how weather can significantly impact communities and create mass casualty incidents. Weather events seem to be occurring more frequently and can not only impact the population but can impede the response to victims of a mass casualty. Finally, we will analyze special weather-related casualty types and determine appropriate triage systems.
Objectives
At the end of this module, you will be able to:
- Analyze special weather-related casualty types.
- Estimate the effectiveness of triage systems.
- Assess staffing requirements.
