We will look at a motor vehicle mass casualty case and critique the response. Finally, we will discuss the mass casualty incident drills you have been involved with.

The Mexican Hat Motorcoach Run-Off-the-Road and Rollover incident occurred in January 2008 near Mexican Hat, Utah. A motorcoach carrying 53 passengers lost control, veered off the road, and rolled over multiple times, resulting in nine fatalities and numerous injuries. The incident highlighted the need for stricter safety regulations for motorcoaches, better driver training, and improved emergency response procedures to manage large-scale accidents involving commercial vehicles. This tragic event underscored the importance of passenger safety and regulatory oversight.
