Sharon McFadden Bradley, DNP, RN, CNL, CNE

 

Dr. Bradley is the newly appointed Director of Student Success and Clinical Assistant Professor in the Biobehavioral Nursing Science Department of the College of Nursing at the University of Florida.

Teaching

Dr. Bradley has been with the CON since 2000 and has taught a variety of clinical and didactic courses in the College.  Her areas of experience include adult health nursing, education, leadership, and outcomes management.  She currently teaches in the undergraduate program and the DNP program .  Dr. Bradley holds national certification as a Certified Nurse Educator (CNE). Dr. Bradley is developing the roles and responsibilities as Director of Student Success and looks forward to facilitating positive educational experiences for all students enrolled in CON programs.

Scholarship

Dr. Bradley is interested in evidence-based research on tests and measures in nursing education.  She is also interested in clinical research in the area of patient safety and quality of care. She has a special interest in ePortfolios and has presented her work in several University and national venues. She is currently developing a couple of articles on the role of student success in college programs.

Service

Dr. Bradley serves on College and Health Science Center committees and in her role as Director of Student Success.  She holds membership in the Florida Nurses Association and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.  She is a member of the Alpha Theta chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International, Honor Society for nursing.  Dr. Bradley is a member of the SREB Council on Collegiate Education in Nursing and serves on the Research Committee and the Workforce Diversity Committee.

Area of expertise

Dr. Bradley has expertise in the practice areas of medical surgical nursing, cardiovascular, and critical care nursing.  She worked previously as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in cardiovascular nursing and has held certification as a critical care nurse. Dr. Bradley currently holds national certification as a Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) through the NLN and as a Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) through AACN.

Education

Dr. Bradley received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Clemson University (Go Tigers!).  She earned a Master of Science in Nursing degree with a specialty in Adult Health from the Medical College of Georgia (now Georgia Regents University).  She completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in 2010 at the University of South Florida.
