Canvas operates on a "user-centric" basis, meaning that many of the functions are user, rather than course, based. One example of this is the Inbox - you will send and receive all of your Canvas messages (called Conversations) from one single location.
Using the Inbox Conversations is the preferred method of contact with your TA and instructor, because it provides them additional information on you that will help answer your questions more efficiently.
The standard turnaround window for replies is 48 hours or less on business days. Your instructors will do their best to respond as quickly as possible.
1. At the upper right of the Canvas window, locate "Inbox" RIGHT-click it and select "Open in new tab."
2. Take a moment to look at the interface, and notice that you can use the dropdown menu to filter messages by course. Locate and click the icon for "Compose a New Message."
3. Send a message to Rhiannon Pollard with your name and degree or certificate program. Feel free to ask a question as well, if needed! Check back in 48 hours for a response.
