Working with Groups

In your courses, you may have the opportunity to work in Groups with your classmates via the People tool. Groups are like a smaller version of your course and are used as a collaborative tool where students can work together on group projects and assignments. Sometimes you will be assigned to Groups, and other times you'll be able to choose and organize your own.
Each Group automatically has its own dedicated sub-course within the larger course, with separate Discussions, Pages, Files, Collaborations, etc. It's like having your own private workspace with just the others in your group.
- Click People on the left menu
- Choose the Groups tab
- Here you will see a list of existing groups, which you may be able to join, or create your own.
- When you click your group's name, you are taken to the Group's sub-course. Only others who have joined the group can access this content (note: your instructor automatically has access to all groups).
To learn how to create, join, and work with Groups, watch the video below. Feel free to ask if you have specific questions that are not covered here.
