The Curriculum Plan should include 9 core courses, as well as the additional courses that will need to be approved by your Faculty Mentor so that the sum of upper-division (3000-4000) credits is at least 60 hours. These additional credits should be courses you and your Faculty Mentor agree is relevant for your career/research goals.
Step 2:
- Reach out to potential Faculty Mentors.
- Start work on your Curriculum Plan. Use tools in the How-To Guides & Resources to find and plan courses. Check the Senior area of the NRC Page as you plan for FNR4950L, Core 8: Capstone Approval or Integrated.
Please begin the Plan BEFORE meeting with your Faculty Mentor to discuss the additional electives that they need to approve. Don’t expect them to complete it for you. Investigate courses offerings, prerequisites, etc.
Step 3: Finalize the Curriculum Plan with your Faculty Mentor. Plan must be signed by Faculty Mentor and yourself, and must be the entire document (4 pages, see below). You will likely want to talk you your Faculty Mentor multiple times in this process, so plan ahead and ask about their availability.
