Engage Your Students
Overview
Students who are engaged in the learning process are generally more satisfied with their academic achievement. Online learners can feel isolated at times, and can struggle with self-motivation and self-discipline. This can lead to a sense of disconnect to both their peers and their studies.
Utilizing engagement strategies will help strengthen your flipped advising approach. One very important strategy is to implement and foster an online learning community. You can do this by setting up a strong introductory activity in which you introduce yourself first. This helps set the foundation for both your advisor presence as well as the learning community within your course site.
