Week 1 Assignment
- Due Sep 6, 2020 by 11:59pm
- Points 2
- Available Aug 31, 2020 at 12am - Sep 6, 2020 at 11:59pm
Weekly assignments are meant to recreate the small group interactions you would have if you were taking this course on-campus. You will be randomly assigned to a small group at the beginning of the semester. If at any time you would like to switch to a new group, please let the coordinator know. In these groups, you'll interact about the course material and design.
For this week, you are introducing yourself to your group mates and answering a few questions about the course to make sure you understand how it works. The main goal this week is to become comfortable working together in a group.
-
Introduce yourself in the discussion "Week 1 - Introductions". Some things you could talk about are:
- Year and Major;
- Math background (last time you took a math course, how comfortable you are, etc);
- Why you are taking this course;
- Something fun you have planned for fall; or
- Pets, hobbies, current show you are watching.
-
Answer questions in the Discussion topic called "Week 1 - Questions about the class". Collectively in comments, answer the following questions about the course.
- When is the first progress quiz?
- What assignment type primarily determines your grade in the course?
- How do you access the online homework system?
- When are the weekly assignments due?
If you have other questions about the course, ask them in the "Questions about the class" discussion topic and I'll check to answer.
The TA will be checking that everyone has participated in the discussions. You are expected to contribute to #1 and #2 to earn full points for this week.
