Institution Template Pages
Create custom-styled course pages without having to know the ins and outs of DesignPLUS Design Tools!
COIP has developed fully customized page, assignment, and discussion page templates for you to use as a starting point in your course. Many pages in each theme are available to choose from, including a landing page, content pages, assignment pages, contact pages, and more.
These pages are best used with the styles as-is. They are made for the body copy, images, and media to get swapped out but are not made to easily re-style.
steps to add an institution template to a page
- Launch Design Tools on any Page, Assignment, Syllabus or Discussion.
- Navigate to Create/Edit Content > Copy Existing Content > Institution Templates
- Select a template from the drop-down list

HTML Snippets
COIP has developed custom Institutional HTML Snippets for use in the Design Tools wrapper.
A snippet can be added to any page, assignment, discussion, or syllabus and allows you to easily add column layouts, media, and functionality to your course.
Two and three-column layouts are available with many options for each layout. The names of each snippet correspond to what will be on the left, middle, and right of each column. For example, the "Text | Tabs" 2 column layout will insert text on the left and tabs on the right. The Text | Text | Media will insert text on the left column, text in the middle column, and media in the right column.
TIP: Be sure to add a Design Tools Wrapper before you add an HTML snippet to a blank page. To add a wrapper, simply apply any theme to your page. Go to Create/Edit Content > Choose a Theme > Simply select a theme and a wrapper will get added. You may then add a content block, then an HTML snippet.
