The purpose of this assessment is to verify your precalculus skill level and ensure that you have the necessary mathematical background to succeed in this class. Since the assessment isn't graded and isn't proctored you should take this as an opportunity to hone your skills, and decide if you want to continue in this course. As such, I would highly encourage to take this assessment as if it were a legitimate exam for this course, without notes or references to any other material. All the content in this assessment is intended to be the "easy" part of any given calculus problem, so if you rely on outside materials to do this content, exams will be significantly more difficult than they are intended to be for you.

 Guidelines and Grading

• Despite what Canvas may say, this assessment will not count toward your grade in any way. This is akin to a placement exam for this specific course.
• You have unlimited attempts to pass the needs assessment.
