Student groups will rehearse and record themselves delivering a conversation entirely in Latin.
Purpose: Practice conversational Latin skills.
Task: Use the framework in the document below and be sure to input the details required. Students should memorize and rehearse enough to need no script during the conversation.
Criteria: Students and student groups will be graded equally on delivery, pronunciation, length, individual participation, and their script. Refer to the rubric for more detailed information.
Directions: Students should record themselves in a one-take video on Zoom. Production value is not a part of the grading criteria, so the seconds before and after the conversation begin and end should be left in the recording and won't affect your performance.
Submission: One person from your group will complete this group submission
Download this group submission. They should submit the script (.doc or .docx only) with the video link in the document as prompted. Use this file and follow the directions.
Furthermore, every student must submit Industria Retrōspecta which is an informal survey of your group members' participation but is nonetheless a part of your grade on the assignment.
Disclaimer: Student group videos will not be made public to anyone beyond the members of the group and the instructor unless otherwise approved by all group members.
Student Groups
You'll be assigned a group (gēns) in the classroom. If you're not there that day or you forget, you should be able to find your group by navigating on Canvas to People --> Groups. You'll be assigned a new group for each conversation.
