Page Design & Structure Apply a Theme to a Page
A theme is a collection of uniformly styled design elements that give the page a polished and professional appearance. Themes control the styling of the page title, the navigation menu (also called a link grid), if present, and page headings.
Instructions
Apply a theme to a page
- Edit or create the page or content item where you want to apply the theme.
- Starting with a blank page, open the Add New Elements ( ) tab in the sidebar.
- From the Add New Element menu, select the Theme tool.
A banner title element will be added to the page using the default theme, and the Edit Current Element ( ) tab will open with Theme selected as the active tool. - In the Content panel of the Theme tool, choose the theme type, Basic or Front Page. You can change this selection at any time.
- Basic = theme includes banner text and page heading styles only.
- Front Page = theme includes banner text, banner image, navigation grid, and page heading styles.
- In the Style panel, expand the Institution Themes panel to view the list of available themes. As you move your cursor over each theme name, a preview of the theme appears. When you find a theme you want to use, click its name to apply it to the page.
- Click Save to make the changes permanent.
Change the theme for a page
- Edit the page.
- Place your cursor in any of the theme elements (e.g., banner title, link grid, or page heading). The theme tab will not appear unless your cursor is located in one of these three elements.
- Open the Edit Current Element ( ) tab in the sidebar.
- Choose the Theme option as the active tool.
- From the Style panel, select the desired theme to apply it to the page.
- Click Save to save your changes.
