Read the Syllabus and review the course content. Several books are assigned to this class, which may be obtained online, as is the research to answer the questions. Those books are all recommended to include:

• Online Resources - Supplemental case law material can be found online for the most recent case law. If you use online material, please cite it appropriately. Wikipedia will not be allowed as a citation. 

Online research is encouraged to update any case law or information you seek. Make sure you cite your sources.

Assignment - Laws affecting the fire service affect how your department operates. Several federal regulatory agencies affect how your department operates in many if not all, phases of your department operations. Write a 3-5 page paper (content) using APA format on the effects of laws and regulatory agencies on your department. Please identify at least three federal agencies and at least three federal laws affecting your department.
