In this discussion, students will be able to identify ways to prevent firefighters from dying from work-related incidents. Pay attention to the speaker's points as he presents this very valuable lesson.
This discussion should bring all the objectives together to promote a well-managed and safe scene. As the incident commander, we need to constantly be aware of what is happening on the incident scene. This module should give the foundation for the thought process as the incident scene plays out.
Initial Post
Watch the video clip, Fifty Ways to Kill a First Responder: On Changing Strategy Links to an external site. (2:39).
- Discuss the point you think the presenter is trying to get across.
- What does it mean to you?
- How does it fit into the decision-making process?
Responding to Peers
Provide a substantive response to a fellow student colleague. Don't just agree or disagree. The minimum requirement is to respond to at least two other students' posts with critical feedback. Points will be progressively deducted for no responses and only one response.
