Module 2: Overview
History is noted to repeat. From a disaster perspective, it can be noted that hurricanes have active and inactive cycles based on data. History has also shown continual problems with planning for disasters and responding to their aftermaths, thus leading one to believe that the lessons learned are not being applied properly.
Objectives
After this module, students will be able to:
- Define and describe what a community risk assessment is
- Recall the common disaster planning changes in the 21st century
- Describe the planning lessons learned from previous disaster

Assignment Review
You are the recently appointed Director of Emergency Management. During your interview process it was determined your jurisdiction was deficient in training and exercise. Provide a 6 page detailed paper of your plan to improve the training and exercise program for the department/jurisdiction.
