Instructions
Write a 1500-word academic paper discussing how active violent situations have changed the way responders have adapted their responses. Include how TEMS teams fit into the responses.
The paper must follow APA styling and formatting and have at least 3 peer-reviewed references.
Guidelines and Grading
This assignment is worth 15 points and measures the following objectives:
- Explain modern dangers to fire, EMS, and law enforcement personnel and the justification for increased interoperability.
- Define the role of SWAT teams.
- Justify the need for tactical paramedics as an integral part of the SWAT team.
- Explain the responsibilities of the tactical paramedic on a special weapons and tactics unit.
- Explain considerations for EMS involvement with a SWAT team.
- Discuss the advantages and challenges of EMS involvement as TEMS paramedics.
- Discuss costs associated with supporting TEMS paramedics.
- Discuss TEMS paramedic protocols and equipment.
- Explain TEMS paramedic initial and ongoing training needs.
