This assignment is worth 15 points and measures the following objectives:

- Identify the need for a confined-space rescue operation.
- Identify the hazards that are associated with a confined space incident.
- Identify the different levels of response personnel for confined-space incidents.
- Describe the need and methods required to manage the confined space incident scene.
- Identify the resources required to conduct a confined space rescue operation.
- Describe the methods and equipment for controlling existing and potential hazards during a confined space operation.
- Identify the non-entry methods for conducting a confined space rescue.
- Define the priorities for incidents involving above-ground or belowground rescues.
- Describe the role of EMS in above-ground and below-grade ground situations.
- Identify ways that initial responders could expedite patient contact in complex rescue situations.
