Welcome to 5th grade Space Science!

Hello My name is Ms. Ashley Castro. I am a fifth grade math and science teacher. This is my eighth year teaching in P***** County. I have taught 2-5th grade. I love science it is all around us! I have two children of my own, Julia is 17 and Zoey is 8. They both attend P***** County schools. I can't wait to get to know all of my new scientists!!
I fully believe in hands-on learning and a cooperative learning environment. Students will be pushed to think outside the box, analyze real-world problems, design solutions, conduct investigations and experiments, and apply critical thinking to science concepts.

Fifth grade science covers a large amount of information, we will have a busy year, but one filled with fun and excitement for learning.
Most of the course learning resources can be found in the Modules tab in the menu to the left.
Use the Next and Previous buttons at the bottom of each page to navigate through lessons and assignments.
I will only publish modules as we are working on them. I will not publish modules we have not started yet.
Students can check their grades using the Grades tab in the menu to the left.
Use the Inbox icon to the left on the blue tool bar to email the teacher and other students in the course.

Students are expected to navigate the course frequently to become familiar with the online resources and tools.

Students must sign in frequently to keep up with assignment deadlines.
Students must email ahead me ahead of time if an assignment is going to be late.
Students must use respect and appropriate language when participating in discussion posts.
